Radio Frequency Interference
Most modern electronic equipment that contains digital processing will produce Radio Frequency Noise emission, mostly because of high switch or clock frequencies. The emission of this high frequency noise may interfere with other electronic equipment and must of course be kept at a minimum.

Frequency converters likewise emit radio frequency noise. Depending on the environment in which the frequency converter is placed, the RFI are of more or less significance. In heavy industrial environments, only limited measures are necessary, whereas in hospitals or computerized environments, increased protection is required.

The emission of radio frequencies is heavily dependent on several different parameters.  For example, the way screened power cables are connected to the frequency converter has an extensive influence on the radio frequency emission. More....
