Application Description
Central Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems, are considered to be the most energy efficient method of supplying air conditioning and maintaining temperature control in buildings. Variable Air Volume system Air Handling Units (AHU) meet the ventilation and air temperature requirements in buildings by controlling AHU fan airflow capacity. The system is usually designed to maintain constant static pressure in the supply duct and a positive building static pressure by regulating the airflow of both the supply and return fans. Individual terminal units (VAV boxes) supply the conditioned space with a variable flow of constant temperature air. High efficiency is achieved by delivering only the amount of conditioned air needed to handle the load and by designing central systemto use larger, highly efficient, fans, pumps and chillers..
